Be Saved!

John 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

The passage above clearly indicates that God's desire for mankind is that each of us be saved. In fact, verse 17 expressly states that God sent His Son into the world that the world, through Him, might be saved! Earlier in this same verse we see that God's purpose for sending His Son was not to condemn the world. In other words, God does not want to have to condemn, He desires to rescue and save! God goes so far as to tell us in 2 Peter 3:9, "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."

Our loving God is not willing that ANY should perish! NOT ONE! No, God wants everyone of His creatures to come to the place of repentance. He simply wants us to change our mind and acknowledge that we need the forgiveness that His Son came to purchase for us with His own blood. God sent His Son to live a perfect life that none of us has lived. Not only this, He further sent His Son to then sacrifice His life for ours that we should no longer remain in the deadness of sin, but instead have the fullness of His eternal life!

How marvelous, how wonderful! God SO LOVES us that He gave Jesus for us and to us! Indeed, God the Son SO LOVES us that He laid down His very life in order that we might have that very eternal life. He is Worthy indeed!
