Good News Club

Since teaching the Bible in the Public School system, our teachers have been repeatedly asked “Can you really teach the Bible in a Public School?” The answer is Yes! The Supreme Court ruled in 2001 in Good News Club v. Milford Central School that Good News Clubs can meet in public schools after school hours on the same terms as other community groups.

After-school Good News Clubs are an asset to schools and do not add any cost or liability to the school district. Children who wish to participate stay after school one hour per week and must have a parental permission slip. An exciting Bible lesson using captivating materials from CEF (Child Evangelism Fellowship) is presented each week.

This engaging time also includes songs, Scripture memorization, a missionary story, and review games or other activities reaffirming the week’s theme. The teachers are volunteers who are trained prior to working in the Clubs, and are screened according to the child protection policy. At the end of the Club time parents and guardians arrange for transportation home.
