Teen Program

“And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures which are able to make thee wise unto salvation though faith which is in Christ Jesus.”  II Timothy 3:15

Tidewater Baptist is a place where young people can hear the Word of God and come to saving faith in the God of the Word. Our youth minister is Jacob Mckinney.  He and his wife Shera have been ministering to our teens since 2015. Jon James and his wife Kitty worked with the teens for fifteen years prior to the Mckinneys, and still work in close proximity with them.

Our church has a desire to follow the Great Commission of our Lord by providing our youth with a ministry of Christ-centered expository preaching and teaching of the Bible.  The teens meet for Sunday School and Wednesday night classes, and also get together for monthly youth activities. Each summer, the teen group makes a trip to the Wilds Christian Camp in Brevard, North Carolina, which is one of the highlights of the entire year.

Teens with a heart for missions work are invited to participate in the TBC Mission Teens ministry where they will be trained in child evangelism. The Mission Teens visit shelters, nursing homes, and churches in the U.S. and overseas, providing Gospel hymn music, testimonies, and Vacation Bible School outreaches. They also serve in the junior church ministry at Tidewater.
